This engaging collection of Latin short stories is designed for beginner students who want to reinforce their learning through enjoyable reading beyond the textbook. The book includes ten stories—five mythological and five historical—all inspired by themes from Ancient Rome and Greece. Arranged in order of increasing difficulty, the stories gradually introduce more advanced vocabulary and grammar, helping students build confidence and fluency in Latin.
This book is especially close to my heart. It was written by one of my advanced Latin students, Ryan Zhu, who dedicated nearly three summers to bringing these stories to life. I had the joy of guiding him through the process, and I couldn’t be prouder of what he’s created.
